David Bowie was an ever-evolving artist, renowned for his ability to continuously reinvent himself. My admiration for Bowie began with his iconic Ziggy Stardust album. By the time his next album, Aladdin Sane, was released, he had transformed yet again. Initially, I wasn't sure how I felt about his constant changes, but Bowie taught me the value of having the courage to experiment.

The image I've painted is inspired by his Heroes era in the late '70s. An interesting fact about Bowie is that, as a young boy, he got into a fight with a bully, which resulted in a scratched eye that never healed properly, leaving one pupil permanently dilated. This unique feature is captured in my painting.

David Bowie's innovative spirit and musical brilliance continued to enchant audiences until his passing in 2016 from cancer.
